S. Korea to pay COVID-19 support funds to lowest 70% income bracket based on insurance fees

재난지원금, 3월 건보료 기준으로 지원…4인기준 23만7천원 이하<br /><br />The South Korean government has unveiled the specifics of its COVID-19 emergency disaster fund program to help households through this difficult time.<br />Last month's health insurance fees will be the main criteria to assess how much support the lowest 70 percent income bracket will be eligible to receive.<br />It will apply to a one person family paying less than around 72 U.S. dollars, two people less than 122 dollars, three people less than 159 dollars and four people less than some 193 dollars.<br />The support fund will be around 8-hundred-15 dollars for a family with... or more than four members.<br />However, the government support will not be available to those with large assets even if they're in the lowest 70 percent income bracket.<br />Details on that are to be announced soon.<br />The government says it will prepare the supplementary budget for the National Assembly's approval as soon as possible.<br />
